so much depends

upon

a blue-eyed dog

who cares for you when you're lost and lonely

even in the darkest of times

dogs are there with you all the way through

something I will never have .

so much depends

upon

a word

they can pierce you sharp as knives

or they can soar into your heart

everyone knows words are more powerful than swords

it just depends on what you say.

so much depends

upon

a smile

smiles are signs of gratitude

remember that new student in your class?

a smile tells you that you are now their friend

a smile can tell you things that words cannot

sometimes apologies can't be explained in words

a smile could mean "i'm so sorry, could you please forgive me?"

we are so lucky that people smile in this world

aren't we?

You will never own your own dog? Are you sure? What about when you're a grown-up?

Yeah, I probably will own a dog when I grow up, but for now, my mom thinks they're too much work!
