The Great Nathan Bedford Forrest

Date of birth:July 13, 1821

Death:October 29, 1877, at 7:30

He was a lutiniet Genaral in the civil war. He was one of the greatest killers in the world during the civil war.One time, 12,000 men were sent to find and kill Forrest.  A story is related of his reprimanding a yong lutinet with severity that the latter, stung beyond endurance, drew his pistol. Forrest deliberately walked to him, and useing his great physical sureriority to the uttermost, literally cut the yong man to the ground, with his bowie-knife, and then cooldly wipeing the bloody blade of the knife, mounted, and rode off as if nothing had happend.

Here are some of his quotes:"never stand and take a charge... Charge them to." "No____ man kills me and lives." Iv'e got no respect for any young man that won't join the colers." "Get there first with the most." " I ended the war with a horse ahead."http://thinkexist.com/quotation/i-have-never-on-the-field-of-battle-sent-you/387447.html
